Mahakumbabishegam

That must have been a mouthful..Actually, that long long word actually refers to the consecration of a Hindu temple. The one near where I live had it's ceremony today. What happens during this event is that several priests would climb up to the towers, or Gopurams, and perform some rituals. There are three towers for this temple. Somewhere during the rituals, out of nowhere, an eagle-like bird, the Garuda appeared in the sky circling the area above the temple. This bird is believed to be sent by the Gods to overlook the whole ceremony. Later on, my aunty told me that the priests would look out for the Garuda first before pouring the holy water down the Gopuram. After a while, it vanished! That was really a sacred sight. Also to mention the throngs of people there..all over the place..some even went up to the HDB building floors to have a better view! Then we went to get the food they were giving out. Yumm...

Wait...Do you hear something?? It's the sounds from......

Band, Back and the Insurance Plan

Today was really exhausting..actually, felt kinda tired since yesterday but the carrying over of instruments to the convention centre just now was dreadful..Boy am I proud to say that Fauzi and I managed to carry over the chimes back all by ourselves! hahaha..Anyways, Band camp was held over the last three days, but I didn't stay..would be very tiring that way. Saturday was fun because of the games! MaRui was soo funny! We had to crusade the campus for stations and stuff with whatever clue the station masters gave us and complete certain tasks. At one point, we were supposed to present three living things to the station master at the rugby field. So almost everyone in my group started looking at the bushes at the side for ants..but Marui went onto the field and he caught a toad! hahaha!! Then he ran after Kailing and she was screaming like a mad woman! It was just so funny lah. Heh..I think I lost some weight after the period of these two days because of all the running during the games and the carrying of instruments! hahah...joke people, laugh! Oh yeah, eventually our group won the games. Coincidentally, everyone in our group were wearing black tops. (We were grouped randomly by numbers) Later on, the losers were "pushed" on stage to perform a strip-show/pole-dance thingy and some andy lau thing which I didn't really understand but was quite hilarious to watch.

On a serious note, hopefully not too flat or sharp, a major mishap was prevented just now. While walking down the wet steps of canteen 1, Has almost fell. She slipped alright, but thank god, or should I say thank Ash that she immediately stopped her from falling. It was the kind of slip where she would have definitely struck her head against the step and also damage her back. It was so scary. Has, time to get a new pair of sandals...NOW!

Deepavali and the long holiday

Deepavali's over. Tried to upload some photos taken during the festivities, but stupid Hello! is giving me some problems. I'll try to do that soon alright. Anyways, I was not available to blog over the last week because I was caught up with stuff; work, preparations for Deepavali and stuff like that. And when I wanna come and update you guys bout the celebrations, stupid hello! fails on me. Damn it! Anyways, lotsa ppl came to our house over three days. Thurs, Sat and Sun. Rekha, Sasi, Gabe, Mich and Tim came on Saturday for dinner. It was fun lah..Oh yah, on Saturday, my family friends who live in the same block came too. The children were soo cute..especially Rohan! Ooh, I wish I could show you some photos of him..but no thanks to stupid Hello!..He is simply adorable I tell you..haha..And Nickhel kept on insisting to play games with him, so I was in the room for some time, playing with him while everyone was outside enjoying..heheh..okay lah..wasn't that bad. Oh yah, I made a Rangoli this year, with some help from my sisters. Hehe..For those not in the know, a Rangoli is a pattern designed on the floor with coloured rice bits. Then again, I could have displayed a photo here..but Noooooo.....this stupid Hello! is preventing me from writing anymore..so till I can get Hello! to work, no photos for you guys..Look out for them in a few days time alright! For today, my family and I planned to visit my relatives in Malaysia. However, nobody knew (including myself) that my passport had already expired in October. All males who are gonna be enlisted can only have their passports valid for six months, after which it should be renewed. But, since I rarely follow my parents to Malaysia, I haven't renewed it since. So we cancelled the trip, no thanks to me that is. Heheh..Ending off here. To those Muslims reading this, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Enjoy the holidays!
